Katrina Jeffs
Katrina grew up in southwest Sydney and has loved words since she was a child. She would spend her weekends reading books, writing stories and poems, and searching the flowers for fairies. She majored in journalism the University of Wollongong before completing her studies in primary education. She is a teacher with a passion for literacy and encouraging the innate creativity of children. Katrina previously self-published a book of poetry called Seeds in Tear-soaked Soil about her experiences with mental illness. One Hundred Cups of Tea is her first children’s book, and she hopes it will be the first of many in her publishing journey. Katrina loves cats and ducks, gardening, going for strolls, knitting, scary movies and ghost stories, old things, the Blue Mountains, rainy days and drinking tea.
Imojjen Elmer
Imojjen grew up in a little blue house full of books in the Western suburbs of Sydney. She was constantly making up stories accompanied by illustrations and an early obsession with Beatrix Potter made illustrating picture books a lifelong dream. She studied Fine Art at the National Art School and then completed her Master of Art Therapy. She is now an Art Therapist, passionate about showing people how powerful being creative is and using artmaking and storytelling to work with people from preschool to aged care. One Hundred Cups of Tea is Imojjen’s first picture book and she hopes it is only the beginning. Imojjen loves knitting, reading, drawing, baking, watching movies and walking around her neighbourhood. She has been drinking tea since the time in Year 4 when she was home sick from school and her mum made her a cup of Earl Grey and showed her Pride and Prejudice (1995, of course) for the first time.
